Consultations

It all starts with a chat…..

We need to talk openly and confidentially to get to the bottom of what is going on. The consultation will determine if there is anything serious happening to your heart that requires further investigations or procedures.

We aim to provide care that is respectful of and responsive to your individual preferences, needs, and values. This ensures that your values guide all clinical decisions.

Tests

Sometimes further investigations can be helpful. We can perform Echocardiograms, ECGs, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Long-Term Heart Monitoring, Exercise Testing and Pacemaker/ICD checks in-house, so you can get your investigations on the same day.

We also have access to cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and any blood tests you may need.

Procedures

Catheter Ablation

Ablation, also known as catheter ablation, is a minimally invasive procedure that works by carefully interrupting the abnormal electrical signals in your heart through heat or by freezing. It involves using radiofrequency energy or freezing to resolve abnormal heart rhythm. Dr Srinivasan performs the most ablation procedures in Essex and is one of the High Volume operators in the country.

Catheter ablation is used to treat the following heart conditions:

  • SVTs (Supraventricular Tachycardia)

  • AF (Atrial fibrillation)

  • Atrial flutter

  • Ventricular arrhythmias

It is a suitable option if medical therapy has not been effective or tolerated and is increasingly becoming a first line therapy to treat arrhythmias.

Pacemakers, Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD) & Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT)

A pacemaker is a device that prevents the heart from beating slowly by stimulating the muscle to make it heart. A small box which is put under the skin and connected to leads that are inserted through a vein touch the heart and make it beat.

Some types of pacemaker (ICDs) are implanted to shock the heart out of rapid and lethal heart rhythms, others can resynchronize the way in which the heart beats in order to improve its pumping ability (CRT).

Dr Srinivasan also specializes in new and novel pacing technologies known as physiological pacing or Left-bundle pacing, which may improve cardiac function through normalizing the electrical activity of the heart.
